Complete Chaos

At the end of each day we allow the students to rotate around to different math centers. Some students must finish incomplete work from earlier in the day before going to these centers. Even with 2 teachers in the classroom there is still complete chaos at times when students are getting done with work, going to centers, and getting packed up to go home. For example, today at one point all of this was happening at one moment... I was giving a student a math skills test, 4 students at their desks were raising their hands with quesitons about morning work, a student sat with his hand raised at a computer that was not working, kids were playing with rubber band boards on the carpet, and to top it all of a girl had wet her pants in the cubby area because she suddenly realized that she had to go. I'm not sure I could manage all of this and still have my sanity if I was the only one in the room. Spending 6 hours with 17 first graders every day is wearing me out!

  1. Hi Kathleen,
WOW. That's all I can say!
Are you thinking you may want to teach older kids??
    Have a great weekend Kathleen!
    Love,
