Well I took a break from my busy Sunday afternoon and found a new blog background, thus the change in how my blog looks! This next week is my last week with my kindergarten class. Once again I'll be moving to another classroom. I will miss the kids, but I am excited about finally getting to experience an upper grade, 3rd! I've also got another portion of my action research paper due this coming week and this weekend is my first 2 Praxis exams! I've been studying for a few weeks and am just eager to get them over with.
This past Thursday for class we went to a school in Alcoa, just southwest of Knoxville, to observe. It was a very inspirational school and I enjoyed seeing a method of teaching very different from what I've been used to. They emphasize lifelong skills into all curriculum and do a lot of movement to enhance learning. After the morning, we were very excited to find out that we had the afternoon off and my whole class was able to go eat lunch together. After driving back to Knoxville, I was able to go back to Dogwood to visit my 1st graders! It was so nice to see them all again and they were excited to see me! It was also nice to talk with my mentor teacher and share some stories of the past weeks. Hopefully I will be able to visit again before the Christmas holiday!
Wish me luck with my last week in Kindergaren and with my Praxis exams!
