finally a break...
It is Thanksgiving break! I'm home enjoying the holiday with my family. After this break, the next 3 weeks could either go incredibly slow, or really fast. I'm in my final rotation at a 3rd grade classroom. I've gotten really attached to the little kids through my past rotations that it's much more challenging to be in an upper grade now. Our class is smaller, only 15 kids, and I'm finding that their work is much more independent, which means I'm not sure what to do with myself at times. I like the content of this grade, but I'm disappointed in the amount of worksheets and lecture style lessons. I'm jumping into teaching in this classroom, by leading a small reading group and beginning to teach science lessons. It's more difficult with these students cause they are not as easily motivated to pay attention and also try to get away with things more often. I look forward to the next 3 weeks with this class, but I also am still eager to get back to my 1st grade class for the whole spring semester! Happy Thanksgiving!
